MINUTES OF THE BUSINESS MEETING OF FLEETWOOD & CLEVELEYS LIONS CLUB HELD ON 14th December 2011 AT NORTH EUSTON HOTEL, ESPLANADE FLEETWOOD
Welcome President Denis welcomed everyone to the meeting.
Apologies were received from Marjorie Gibson, Cyril Layland, Les Williams, Jennie Wilson.
Minutes of Previous Meeting The minutes were accepted by the meeting, proposed by Lion Jenny seconded by Lion Mike.
Matters Arising None
President/Secretary’s report(Denis)
1. Since the last meeting I have attended the Zone meeting, with Lion Carole.
2. I have also attended The Mayors Christmas Fair.
3. e Mail received regarding donations to youth camp at Liverpool.
4. e mail received regarding partnership with Classic FM Foundation.
5. Draw tickets received for International Convention.
6. More Medic Alert promotional literature received.
7. The District Governors News letter is being circulated.
8. Invitation received for Culcheth Lions Charter Lunch on May 13th.
9. Charity Shop, Poulton, contracts have been received for next year.
10. Minutes of Zone meeting are available.
11. Alterations to the Social calendar have been made, the amended copy has been circulated.
12. The final reminder for any one wishing to attend Kirkham Lions Charter, has been received.
13. We have received an invitation to Blackburn Lions 50th Charter on Friday 10th February.
14. After some discussion, it was agreed that we suggest to the Zone Meeting that The Rosemere Trust should be supported, otherwise we will go along with the majority.

Community Services (Fred)
A request has been received from a lady whose daughter suffers from Cerebral Palsy and is looking for support to purchase a special tricycle for her. Lion Carole proposed that we donate £250, Lion Donald seconded the motion and the meeting voted for it.
Membership (Stuart)
Nothing to report.
Activities (Carole)
An amount of £51 was raised at The Mount with the Hamper Raffle. The Carol singing at Rossall is due to start at 6.30pm on Monday, but as the Mayor is arriving at that time, we are requested to arrive by 6.15pm.
The Christmas Party on Friday is to be 7.00 for 7.30.
On Saturday we have a Tombola stall at the Teanlow Centre between 10.00am and 2.00pm
The Swimarathon will take place on Saturday 17th March at Fleetwood Swimming Baths. The principal charity will be Equipment for the Cardiac Unit at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. Any one requiring paper work to raise a team should contact Lion Stuart.

Almoners Report(Jenny)
Lion Marjorie is very chirpy and doing well.
Lion Les is not feeling well today and is unable to attend the meeting.
Lion Cyril was taken ill on the return flight from his holiday, he is in Wythenshaw Hospital and is expected to be home on Friday or Saturday.

Sonia said that information about Message in a Bottle was at the YMCA Gym at Poulton.
Lion Ian Cherry thanked the club for making him feel welcome this year.
Lion Pamela said she also was made welcome and thanked the club.

The Meeting ended at 8.40 with a toast to Lions Clubs International.
